Does your phone ever start to heat up as you scroll through some bomb.com Instagram accounts? Yeah, us too. And by hot, we don’t mean the conventional hot, we mean, kick-ass illustrators who are producing some epic work. Yes, it’s your girl Lil talking.
Whilst Instagram started as purely a photo sharing platform, it has evolved into a “share anything you want that fits into a little square platform”, seeing the birth of funky little illustrations, animation, and GIFs, that businesses in digital absolutely L.O.V.E. And this my friends, is where the designers came in and pushed the boundaries of that little square and took over the world. Dramatic? Okay maybe. But they’re still cool.
I’m going to take you on a little journey of four of my favourite squares I’ve scrolled past and the masterminds behind them. So, buckle up kids, and get ready to follow these epic creatives.

3. Abbey Lossing (@abbeylossing)
Now, we’re in quirky street. One of my favourites. This digital illustrator and designer based in Brooklyn loves muted pastels and those deep hues (a match made in heaven (Illustrator)). She’s collabed with Urban Outfitters so don’t tell me you can’t envision her vibe already. Her empowered people illustrations (and animations!) make you want pick up a pencil and start drawing. The colours, the quirky illustrations and the patterns, make an epic combo for a killer Instagram feed.
4. Lisa Koesterke Illustration (@lisakoesterke_illustration)
Okay, now imagine Kikki.K with a sprinkle of confetti, and then you’ve got Lisa Koesterke. She’s a designer and illustrator born and bred in Australia now living in Italy who produces cute, quirky and colour rich designs that will make your day brighter upon scrolling. The illustrations she shares are inspired by everyday life and childhood memories, making the smallest things seem beautiful.
