The Monthly Cut

A monthly edit of what’s actually worth paying attention to across social media, marketing, brand, creators and culture.

There’s a lot of industry noise. Platform updates, trend reports, newsletters, hot takes, algorithm panic, AI everything. We read a lot of it so our team doesn’t have to rely on whatever happened to land in their feed that week.

The Monthly Cut is where we pull the useful stuff together.

Each edition is a short zine featuring the shifts, ideas, campaigns and conversations we think are worth knowing about, with links to go deeper if you want to.

No gated download. No newsletter sign-up. No pretending a PDF needs your email address.

Just something useful we made, shared openly.

Why we make it

Social moves quickly, but good marketing thinking shouldn’t start and finish with the latest platform update.

We think part of doing good work is staying curious about what’s happening beyond our own client accounts. What people are watching, how they’re communicating, what brands are experimenting with, where culture is moving and what’s starting to feel tired.

The Monthly Cut originally started as an internal resource for our team. A way to make sure the things we were reading, saving and talking about actually made their way into our creative and strategic thinking.

Then we figured there wasn’t much reason to keep it to ourselves.

Who are Social Cut?

We’re a social media agency that’s been around since 2016.

We work across strategy, organic social, content, creators and consulting, helping brands work out how they should actually show up online.

We’re interested in the space where social, culture and brand meet. Not posting for the sake of posting, chasing every trend or treating an algorithm update like a marketing strategy.

We believe the best social work comes from understanding people first, platforms second.

And we think sharing what we’re learning makes the industry better for everyone.

Read the latest cut. Steal an idea. Follow a rabbit hole. Send it to your team.

That’s what it’s here for.
